"It's the story behind the image that matters most."
Boris is a self-taught photographer originally from Minsk, Belarus, now based in Philadelphia. His path into photography began unexpectedly while modeling for a small studio in Berlin, where witnessing silver gelatin prints emerge in the darkroom sparked a lasting fascination with the emotional power of images. Soon after, he picked up his first camera and began using photography as a way to observe, understand, and preserve moments that might otherwise slip away.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in International Business from the Berlin University of Applied Sciences, Boris spent several years traveling across Europe and the United States, photographing people and places that helped shape his visual language. Through this process, his work evolved into a storytelling-driven practice — focused on intimacy, intention, and the subtle emotional details that give images their lasting weight.
Now based in Philadelphia, Boris works as a production assistant, gaffer, and associate photographer with Vikrant Photography and Color Space Labs, leading creative studios in the tri-state area. His role on high-level productions — including shoots for Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue — has refined his technical precision, lighting expertise, and collaborative approach on set. His personal and editorial work has also been recognized internationally through exhibitions and publications such as Al-Tiba9, F-Stop Magazine, NOICE Magazine, and Loosen Art.
At the core of Boris’s practice is a commitment to creating meaningful visual memories for his clients — images that remain vivid and emotionally resonant long after the moment has passed. He primarily photographs events, including birthdays, corporate gatherings, and weddings, with a documentary-driven approach that values emotion, connection, and atmosphere over posed perfection. With an intentional and growing focus on wedding photography, Boris approaches each celebration as a once-in-a-lifetime story, capturing it with care, intuition, and the aim of creating work that feels personal, honest, and enduring for generations.
