"It's the story behind the image that matters most."
Boris is a self-taught photographer originally from Minsk, Belarus, now based in Philadelphia.
His path into photography started unexpectedly while he was modeling for a small studio in Berlin. Watching silver gelatin prints develop in the darkroom sparked something—an immediate fascination with the process and the power of an image. Not long after, he bought his first camera and began exploring the world through a new lens.
Over the next eight years, Boris traveled widely all over Europe and the United States, photographing the people, places, and fleeting moments that helped shape his perspective. Along the way, he developed a passion for visual storytelling—using photography not just to document, but to distill feeling, atmosphere, and meaning into each frame.
He’s also gained hands-on experience behind the scenes, working as a gaffer and production assistant for one of Philadelphia’s leading portrait studios. These roles gave him the chance to contribute to major shoots—including a Harper’s Bazaar cover and a Vogue feature—and deepened his understanding of lighting, composition, and collaboration on set.
Today, Boris combines technical precision with a strong emotional eye to create images that resonate. Whether he’s photographing a portrait, fashion editorial, or personal branding session, he’s focused on understanding the heart of the story and making work that feels personal, honest, and lasting.
