"It's the story behind the image that matters most."
Boris is a self-taught photographer originally from Minsk, Belarus, now based in Philadelphia.
His path into photography started unexpectedly while he was modeling for a small studio in Berlin. Watching silver gelatin prints develop in the darkroom sparked something—an immediate fascination with the process and the power of an image. Not long after, he bought his first camera and began exploring the world through a new lens.
Boris earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Business from the Berlin University of Applied Sciences, where he deepened his understanding of visual culture and creative practice. After graduating, he began traveling extensively across Europe and the United States, photographing the people, places, and fleeting moments that helped shape his perspective. Along the way, he developed a passion for visual storytelling—using photography not just to document, but to distill feeling, atmosphere, and meaning into each frame.
Eventually, Boris settled down in Philadelphia, where he continues to work as a production assistant, gaffer, and associate photographer for one of the city’s leading portrait studios. These roles have allowed him to contribute to major shoots—including a Harper’s Bazaar cover and a Vogue feature—and have deepened his understanding of lighting, composition, and creative collaboration.
Today, Boris combines technical precision with a strong emotional eye to create images that resonate. Whether he’s photographing a portrait, fashion editorial, or personal branding session, he’s focused on understanding the heart of the story and making work that feels personal, honest, and lasting.
